Public requests John Lewis station stop
Following my earlier post, New Street Station May update, where I noted the planning application submitted by John Lewis for it's new department store at New Street Station the public have given a resounding thumbs up to the plans.
Birmingham City Council signed a deal with John Lewis in February and launched a public consultation on it's plans in March with a view to opening in 2014, http://www.birminghammail.net/news/top-stories/2011/05/21/john-lewis-birmingham-store-planning-application-goes-in-97319-28734518/. The public overwhelmingly backed the plans with 93% of the 1,650 people who participated in the consultation giving it their approval, http://www.retailgazette.co.uk/articles/04100-public-supports-john-lewis-birmingham-new-street-store.
More images from the planning application are shown below.
