Calling all stops - countdown to New Street Station opening

The opening of the redeveloped New Street Station is now only days away and there is an audible as well as palpable buzz of both anticipation and hard work to ensure all construction is finished on time.  It should be noted there will be ongoing work to finish the platforms amongst other parts after the 20 September opening but these will seem like minor snagging once the grand atrium is in use and the city can celebrate the transformation of the station.

Even with days to go until the station opens Network Rail has announced that more retailers have been confirmed, http://www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/birmingham-new-streets-retail-offer-to-double-as-station-transformation-nears-completion.  Dutch retailer Hema is opening its first store outside of London while All Bar One opens it's fifth site in the city.  The announcement also notes that two units are under offer so there'll be more exciting news regarding the station ahead.

The list of new retailers:
• Moleskin• Joe’s Coffee House• Five Guys• Hema• Bodyshop• Benugo• Oliver Bonas• Wasabi• JOY• Leon• Paper & Script• Doddle• Upper Crust• All Bar One• Pret-A-Manger• Hotel Chocolat

Rail Engineer has put a fantastic video on YouTube showing the last push to finish in time and show the transformation of a concrete monument into a building reflecting the dynamic city it will be the heart of.
