Birmingham pit stop on Route 57
Jurys Inn Hotels have sought to follow America's famous 'Route 66' with a local UK and Ireland Route 57 of ten short road trips with 57 stops along the way. An estimated 600,000 people travel across America every year to drive all or part of the famous route which stretches from Chicago to Los Angeles.
Route 57 offers a route through 57 destinations with similar mileage and drive-time to Route 66.
Jurys Inn Hotels hopes the route will encourage tourists both local and abroad to explore parts of the route or the whole route and discover more of England, Wales, Scotland Ireland.

Road trippers next enter into the Industrial city of Birmingham, which is a hub of culture and excitement, from the Balti Triangle and Jewellery Quarter to the Motorcycle Museum and Botanical Gardens. The journey can include a short detour to Bourneville, taking you to Cadbury World on the way in or out of Birmingham.
The campaign follows a 2014 campaign which saw Jurys Inn Hotels highlight the average 36 minutes in which UK travellers have free when visiting UK cities.
In the 36 minute campaign Jurys Inn Hotels sought to offer a selection of things to do to explore five cities, including Birmingham, as research showed over 90% of Brits said they wished they knew more about the cities they visited.

With the Grand Central shopping centre sitting above the fabulous redeveloped New Street Station and with the Bullring and Mailbox short walks away those 36 minutes and that Route 57 pit stop might be a shopping treat. For those wanting a coffee and people watch there are a number of restaurants and cafes both in the station and Grand Central and the surrounds.
36 minutes is definitely not enough and that Route 57 route might require a weekend visit to enjoy all of what Birmingham can offer.
