Chas(e) ing more trains
The Express and Star has reported Rail boost is just the ticket with the announcement from London Midland of a boost to services on the Chase Line through to Cannock, Hednesford, Rugeley and Great Wyrley from December 15th.
In a further boost to services which should benefit commuters and shoppers, London Midland will also increase the train frequency to every half an hour in the day.
The Line which reopened in 1989 has seen increasing growth and has long been a target for investment in the West Midlands Route Utilisation Strategy with further ambitions to increase platform lengths to accommodate longer trains.
As well as developments on the Chase Line there will be a new service to London from Rugeley Trent Valley and faster trains to London from Tamebridge Parkway.
The most significant change is a boost in late-night trains from Birmingham New Street which for the first time will go right through to Rugeley. In the past the last train to Rugeley was at 6.12pm but now the final service to Rugeley will leave Birmingham at 10.17pm and arrive at 11.15pm.http://www.expressandstar.com/2008/09/02/rail-boost-is-just-the-ticket/
