Cube almost squared
The Birmingham Post has reported that work is moving on the Cube as developers speed up development of the 244 apartments towards completion, The building of 244 apartments has begun at The Cube in Birmingham as the development starts to really take shape. BuildAbility aims to build 16 apartments per week with the building's frame topping out at the end of August and the Cube expected to reach overall completion in mid 2010.
Work is also continuing on the automated car park which will be the UK's largest automated car park with 339 spaces over three storeys and sitting 20m below, ground featuring a high-tech stacking system installed by German company Wohr, http://www.thecubeiscoming.exvn.com/page.cfm?article=0x6e412ff2c6486a88a0f9d33de6544d35.1.42805. Meanwhile the fit out of levels 9 - 11 started in July for the Highways Agency who are taking office space in the building.
