Selly Oak New Road - August 2009 update
Following my Selly Oak New Road - March 2009 update developments continue on the Selly Oak New Road with August seeing rapid progress.
Work on the demolition of the Westley Richards Gun Factory has already progressed much to the regret of conservationists who "said the destruction of the early 19th century arts and crafts factory was “regrettable”, http://www.birminghampost.net/news/west-midlands-news/2009/08/04/conservationists-rue-demolition-of-old-selly-oak-gun-factory-65233-24307613/ particularly following the demolition of the Birmingham Battery Office earlier in the year.

A spokeswoman for Birmingham City Council said the building of the relief road was the subject of a public inquiry in 2005 which found it to be “vital to the area”.“One of the conditions attached to the planning permission for the road was the full documentation of the building and its history, and a full archive of photographs and drawings has been retained for historians,” she said.http://www.birminghampost.net/news/west-midlands-news/2009/08/04/conservationists-rue-demolition-of-old-selly-oak-gun-factory-65233-24307613/
