Edgbaston Cricket Ground redevelopment - March update
Here is an update on the Edgbaston Cricket Ground works from the 8th and 9th March 2011.
Meanwhile across the road the work on the Aldi is nearing completion for it's opening on the 31st March with the store looking nearly complete from the road. The store is adjacent to the Redrow Hemisphere development which is over 95% occupied and will, with work due to start on the remaining Edgbaston Mill plot (Bowled out by regeneration), see the completion of Calthorpe Estates vision of a high quality leisure and retail destination in this part of Edgbaston.
The recent unanimous approval of the £30 million Wylam Investments’ luxury hotel and leisure complex proposal on the remaining plot at Edgbaston Mill will see a new 200 bedroom hotel and leisure facility including three restaurants open by Spring 2012, http://www.calthorpe.co.uk/news/21_feb_2011.aspx.

Sidell Gibson masterplanned the site and two previous stages - 360 flats and a supermarket as well as a big public square - are already complete.
The next phase, due to open in May 2012, involves a 200-bed hotel, conference centre, leisure complex and restaurants.
