Chamberlain falls
The demolition of the University of Birmingham's Chamberlain Hall, Replacing Chamberlain Hall, is nearing it's conclusion after the removal of the wings surrounding Eden Tower (formerly High Hall) has given way to the demolition of Eden Tower itself.
Having survived 50 years since it topped out in October 1963 the tower is now coming down to be replaced by a new tower with improved student accommodation.
The following pictures taken on Sunday 19 January 2014 show the demolition works and the cleared site of the former Hampton and Chelwood Wing's giving a view across the Vale.
