NIA Redevelopment Update August 2014

There has been significant progress on the redevelopment of the National Indoor Arena since my last update in May, http://birminghamcentral.blogspot.com/2014/05/nia-redevelopment-update-may-2014.html, with physical works alongside interest in the arena from potential buyers following Birmingham City Council's plan to sell the NEC group of which it is part, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-28114141

The council is being careful to sell only leases on the NEC – and the ICC and National Indoor Arena in Birmingham city centre – and will retain ownership of the land. This could be particularly important in the case of the National Exhibition Centre and adjoining land which is expected to soar in value once an HS2 interchange station is built nearby.http://www.thechamberlainfiles.com/summer-report-birminghams-crown-jewels/
