Nuneaton Freight Bypass

Construction News reported on the 6th May that Network Rail was considering a new freight line, A £40 million rail link to reduce disruption to passenger services could be constructed at Nuneaton, to help freight trains cross from Peterborough to the West Coast Main Line without affecting commuter trains.

The June edition of Railway Professional reports that Network Rail has unveiled plans to build the £40m rail link, a one-mile long Nuneaton North Chord with work expected to start in 2009 and completion in 2010.
