Brutal Birmingham End - April 2016 update
The hollowing out and demolition of the former Birmingham Central Library continues at a pace since my update of the 12 February, http://birminghamcentral.blogspot.com/2016/02/brutal-birmingham-end-february-2016.html
Work started before Christmas 2015 and is expected to be complete by this Summer.
You can get a sense of the scale of the demolition and the size of the area that will be redeveloped in a newly released birds eye view filmed by drone, http://www.birminghampost.co.uk/business/commercial-property/watch-demolition-central-library-drone-11142127.
I continue to watch in awe as huge swathes of the city are redeveloped simultaneously, reminiscent of the 1960s transformation of Birmingham, stretching from all points of the compass and with still more to come.
The following photos are my record of the progress of the demolition of the former Central Library. They can, like all photos taken by me on this blog, be used under Creative Commons licence attributing them to Simon Felton.
