Demolition opens University of Birmingham's green heart
Work to demolish the former main library on the Edgbaston campus of the University of Birmingham has nearly been completed with only a stump remaining of the front facing University Square. This demolition has opened up the view towards Pritchatts Road and gives an idea of the scale of the new open green heart of the campus.
Work on the first phase of University Square is underway with the old paving removed ready for the installation of the new slabs and new trees due to arrive in November for planting, https://uobgreenheart.com/
The photos below from Tuesday 10 October show the demolition of the former main library and work starting on the Green Heart.
