MacDermid extend Eastside with Small Heath move

The Birmingham Post has reported on US conglomerate MacDermid to open R&D base in Small Heath with news that W Canning, now owned by US conglomerate MacDermid Inc, is to relocate from Bordesley to a new base in Small Heath which will be an 83,000 sq ft research and manufacturing base on a five-acre brownfield site.

The former Bordesley plant was located within the area designated as Eastside, Europe’s largest urban regeneration scheme, and it took many months and much negotiation to agree that the company would look for a new site and relocate by 2009.

The move provides more space for the continued development of Eastside.

An artists impression of how the proposed developments in Eastside will extend the city core and regenerate the area is shown below.
