Birmingham City University city-centre campus coming soon
A quick scan of the recent approved planning applications saw the Birmingham City University Outline Planning Application appear for the 20th January. It seems the conditions and reasons have been sorted after planners gave the outline approval in November 2008.
The Outline planning consent is show below:
The images below are from the Outline Planning Application to indicate conceptual designs for the campus showing heights and massing of the buildings.
Maps of the changing face of the site for the campus are shown below and show how the Birmingham City Campus will add to the continuing development of Eastside and expand the city centre proper towards Millennium Point and the Eastside Locks development.
October 2008 saw an archeological dig of part of the site take place and the following images are taken of the excavation site.

Whitehall the last obstacle for new campus
Birmingham’s City University has finally been given the go ahead for its new £150 million campus at the heart of the Eastside regeneration zone.
