Council housing the Birmingham way
The Birmingham Post reports that Birmingham City Council is to embark on an ambitious council housing building programme to build 500 new council homes a year dwarfing the 375 homes that were built across the whole country last year, http://www.builderandengineer.co.uk/news/general/axis-and-bm3-to-design-birmingham-council-homes-4047.html.
The City Council has appointed local architects Axis Design Collective and BM3 to design 131 homes for the first phase of it's plans with a £15.2 million investment for sites in Kings Norton, Hodge Hill, Sparkbrook and Handsworth.
