Classic Brum

Classic FM will be helping to celebrate Birmingham's classical music scene next week as part of it's partnership with Town Hall and Symphony Hall, Birmingham’s classical music scene venues hit the airwaves. Every evening from Monday to Friday the Full Works programme will feature a selection of music hand-picked associated with venues in Birmingham.

Among the works being featured are pieces that were premiered at the Town Hall such as Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius and Sullivan’s Overture di Ballo while other works include Symphony Hall’s signature work, Mahler’s Second Symphony, which was performed at the hall’s official opening in 1991.

Classic FM and Symphony Hall have been partners since 2002. Each season, Classic FM selects highlights from the Birmingham International Concert Season, the largest international season of visiting classical musicians and orchestras outside London.
