Fast treatment as Queen Elizabeth Hospital nears completion

The new Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Birmingham's superhospital to retain royal title, is ahead of schedule as it nears completion for it's 2010 opening, New hospital 'ahead of schedule'.



The bulk of the building work has now been done with the first phase of the hospital due to open in 2010 and the whole hospital operational by June 2012.

Commissioning Leads and Team Leaders for services moving to QEHB in Phase 1 will have finalised their first draft of the move plan by the end of June. That first draft will then be fine-tuned and developed into its final form by early next year.

It will put in place a detailed move schedule for all Selly Oak inpatient services, A&E, all day case services from both Selly Oak and Queen Elizabeth hospitals and QE private services, which are all due to relocate in June 2010.
