The BBC announced that they would stage their showpiece in the Midlands as soon as the terms were agreed, however speculation as to its precise location has been ongoing until today’s announcement.

Both debates have met with erratic swings in the polls, which has led political commentators to suggest that the ninety-minute encounter this Thursday could be a decisive moment in political history — with the economy being placed firmly in the spotlight. http://www.redbrickonline.co.uk/uncategorized/redbrick-exclusive-university-to-host-final-leaders-debate/

Yes, Bristol romped home in the battle of the Prime Ministerial debate cities, leaving Manchester, host last week, trailing miserably behind.

And with the final debate in grim Birmingham next Thursday, it is clear that Bristol has an unassailable lead.

The other contest saw Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg hoping to repeat the confident performance in the first debate that turned this election upside down.

Bristol was bathed in glorious sunshine all yesterday, and the harbourside area looked like a lovely place to while away an afternoon, Never mind politicians, Bristol is real winner
