Library of Birmingham New Year Update (Jan 2011) II

Further to my earlier update, Library of Birmingham New Year Update (Jan 2011), Carillion have released an update on work taking place on the new Library of Birmingham.



BrumCityCentre.com's Geoff Caine reports that:

The demolition of the library end of the Rep will be starting in February.

The first pour of concrete on the second floor will be Friday, 14th.

The acoustic pads are currently being installed for the Studio Theatre (they stop the sound from the theatre going through to the Library).

The smaller crane that went up last weekend is primarily for use on Core C and the erection of the theatre studio steel frame.

The hope is to complete a floor every 3/4 weeks once the second floor has been completed
