Research for The National Lottery by the University of Nottingham's school of psychology has revealed that people from Birmingham are the friendliest and happiest people.
In an newpaper article, 'Close friends are 'key to true happiness', Dr Richard Tunney from the University of Nottingham has concluded that people with at least 10 good friends are likely to be happier than those with less than five. Brummies it seems are the friendliest as they have an average of 29 friends each. In the research Tunney looked at friendship-to-happiness ratio in the UK's major cities.
